Visit to Ahmednagar Mahanagarpalika regarding Sina River water quality on 4th July 2022
Sina river is the main river of Ahmednagar city whose condition has deteriorated due to this urbanization and recently MAESA Foundation conducted water quality test of Sina River based on various criteria from February to May and according to the findings, it was seen that the quality of river water is very degraded and only waste water flows from it. The effect of this polluted water on the surrounding area, agricultural lands, crops and as this water is mixed with the water sources in the river area, this can have a serious effect on the health of the people of Ahmednagar. Along with this, river pollution is causing damage to the environment here.
Considering these serious issues, MAESA Foundation wants to take the initiative to clean the Sina River to prevent future damage and it will get the support of Nagar Trekkers Foundation, Ekatvam Foundation. By adopting various natural and scientific methods, we intend to clean the river at primary level with the support and cooperation of Ahmednagar City Municipal Corporation, social organizations and public participation. Mrs. Rohinitai Shendge Mayor, Mr. Ganesh Bhosale Saheb Deputy Mayor, Hon. Mr. Sanjay Shendge, Hon. Shankar Gore Saheb Commissioner Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation was met and discussed and a letter was given. Suraj Kapale of Nagar Trekkers and colleagues were present.
